This Is Why OT's Don't Learn Modalities, They Don't Know How to Be Appropriate

In BioMechanic's lab we had the opportunity to use a couple different methods of stimulation. First, we are using a TENS unit on our forearms and really cranked up the power. Next, I tried it on my face. The endorphin rush was awesome.

What a Weekend

Saturday we were out in the sun - highs in the upper 60's no sleeves needed... then woke up to SNOW on Sunday.

Sal and I decided to try on each other's shoes.....

Matt and I bullied Sal into buying a new grill. We then grilled waaaay too much meat for dinner. yum.

Dessert (all 4 of them)!

Pretty flowers.

The snow piled up against the door. Matt's out there shoveling.

We had a *small* amount of trouble getting Matt's car out of the driveway. After shoveling, pushing the car and Sal's ability to gun it, we made it out!

Modern Mexican

After my fieldwork (read: internship) and Matt got off work, we went out to dinner to Tamayo,
We wanted to know what this 'modern mexican' thing was... we found out that it means expensive. We just ordered appetizers because the main courses ran around $20, which was not what we had in mind. It was delicious, don't get me wrong, just not ready to drop $50 on dinner for the two of us.

Matt's TACOS DE PUNTAS DE FILETE were really good.

Plantains! We had to order them since we ate them with every meal when we were in Belize.

Afterwards, we swung by The Market to see if they had anything for dessert. We got a piece of chocolate cake.

Matt liked it!

Leap Year!

On the 29th we observed the Leap Year by attending a 'future' themed party. We went as robots as shown here... Thanks to Donovan for letting us take apart his old DVD player for some extra parts. It's really amazing what some cardboard boxes and spray paint can turn into..

This is 'robo-sex' - we each had part of a plug (Matt had the male component, I had the female) and we put them together.

Robo-kissing

With the Alien at the party

My shiny shoes

It was really hard to move around and talk with all the parts on, so here sits my robo-body

Matt and Patty celebrate their Irish heritage with an Irish Car Bomb.

Sal warms up on our walk to brunch..

what a swing!

We took advantage of Denver Restaurant Week by dining at the 9th Door. It is a tapas restaurant and we got to sample several different small plates.. a great place to go for appetizers.

This is a representation of a human body that one of my professors drew. I think it looks like a face with a weird hat or something on top of it

Wheelchairs, Tea and Hockey

Friday February 15th, I had to spend 6 hours in a wheelchair for school. My friend Becky was also in a chair and Kimberly came out to lunch with us so we wouldn't get stuck in cracks in the sidewalk or run over by a car.

Here is Kimberly with her Crepes that she had for lunch. mmmm.

Becky sips tea with her Falafel salad...

My footrests didn't allow to to get very close to the table, so I had to lean over to eat my sandwich without dropping food all over my lap.

Buckets and I after a long day. My head and neck were killing me from sitting all the time.

Aunt Sara came out for the long weekend and we went out to the Tea house with her for lunch on President's day.
Here is my mom with her beef dish.. it was soooo good!

Sara had chicken pizza. yum.

Matt 'won' with the lamb kabobs.

I like the presentation of mine...

We tried some pear cactus creme brulee. It was sort of weird... Matt and I finished it anyway.

Later that night we went to the Red Wings/Av's game... First had appetizers at The Broker. Matt was trying to perfect drinking a Guinness - he had just read an article in Bon Appetit that you are only supposed to take 8 sips and keep your elbow at a 90 degree angle. what a goof.

At the game..

Emma and Neil..

Emma being a total goof

YA WINGS.

Ozzie had a much needed shut-out after a couple bad games.
