Matty is Back!

After not shaving since December 15th, Matt's beard had gotten quite thick. Although it looked pretty good, the other day I went to kiss him goodnight and it was like kissing my dad (weird). So Matt shaved it off. Of course, we had a lot of fun making him look as goofy as possible while doing it... check out all of the hair in the sink!

Red Wings Game

Saturday night, Matt and I went with my family to the Red Wings vs. Av's hockey game. It was a lot of fun even though the Wings lost (Matt was happy). Emma, Seth and I prove that you can take the kids out of Keego, but you can't take the Keego out of the kids!

Food

The picture is of me cooking after reading Julia Child's "My Life in France"... I am using her recipe for roast chicken from her cookbook "Mastering the Art of French Cooking". It was well worth the constant attention (i.e. basting the chicken every 8-10 minutes).

The others are from Friday when Kenneth, Gramma and I went to the Museum of Nature and Science in Denver. Kenneth was seeing what it was like to drive drunk on this cool simulator. Then we went out to lunch at "Pete's Greek Town Cafe" and ate entirely too much. It was wonderful... Just look at all of that Greek food! You can tell by the look on Gramma's face that it was a grand experience!

Driving in Portland

BRRRRRRRRRRRR

If you are not in Colorado, there is still a good chance that you know that we have been having a bunch of terrible weather... I swear I am back in Michigan. When I was in Connecticut I got 'snowed out' of Colorado because of the first storm. These pictures of Matt are from the second storm when we trudged through the snow over to my G'ma's house to help shovel her out. We brought the sleds along to have some fun on the way back. The other snow scape is where we will be getting married. Imagine it with leaves on the trees, flowers by the fence and grass instead of snow.

As if the snow itself wasn't bad enough, the last 5 days or so have been extremely cold. Over the weekend the highs were in the single digits and it got down below zero over night. That's the kind of cold that makes your nostrils stick together. Not fun.

The icing on the cake was this morning on my walk to class. If it wasn't hard enough to get up and head to school after a month off, I managed to find a nice sheet of ice to slip and fall on. After making sure that my looney toons antics weren't witnessed by too many people (just one I think), I dusted the snow off of me and kept going to class. My back, wrist and butt have all felt better than they currently do, however I am lucky to have gotten away with no major damage. I am ready for this sun that has come out to melt away the snow and leave this nonsense behind us!
