Surprise!

Friday night was Karen's surprise party- she was definitely surprised. Matt and I made the cake with homemade buttercream frosting with Bailey's in it. It was a big hit.

Karen's Bday Sushi

Wednesday was Karen's birthday and we went out to have sushi to celebrate. It was a lot of fun, especially since she thought that was the extent of her birthday celebrations.. she had no idea that 2 days later she would have a surprise party :)

We're Happy!

After unearthing quite a few photos lately with Jay and I looking sort of unhappy, I found one that Jay sent me a while back that we aren't so grumpy (and maybe even a little cute).

What I am learning in OT school

One of my professors had us read this today in class.. I thought it was pretty good and that most people could see the usefulness in it. Or maybe I have been in OT long enough.

Weekend

Friday night we went to the Drive-in and saw the movie "Blade of Glory" - it was hilarious! Saturday we went over to Julia & Todd's and had great chicken tacos and watched "Old School" since Todd had never seen it. Yesterday, Matt and I climbed "Grey Rock" - it ended up being almost an 8 mile hike, but a good way to start the season. Check out the shot of the hawk I got!

Coldstone

We had a fund raiser for school at Coldstone and I got to scoop ice cream. It was the greatest day ever! I was very tired by the end of my 2nd shift

Rockies win again!

Game 2 of 11.. brought in Illegal Petes and then spilled it on the bag my grandparents gave me :(
We all got dough sticks and enjoyed consuming them in weird ways. The Rockies were playing the Giants and we managed to Boo Barry Bonds a lot :)

Flowers and Pie

I am in the middle of a pain-in-the-rear assignment that is due in a few hours. I was up late last night doing it and got up early to finish (I'm not sure how Matt does it everyday)... so somethings to make me happy:
My Uncle Dick sent me these great flowers last week. He's the kind of guy that sends flowers every now and again just because he's a sweet guy... I also think he has some sort of internal radar that knows when you could use having a bunch of beauty around the house. They've been cheering me up all week.
The pie well, it fell a little flat but was still pretty good. It was a lemon meringue ice cream pie with pecan crust that was on the cover of Bon Appetit for April. The cover picture was much prettier than how mine turned out. I also think that the ice cream was kind of messy and in the way of the lemon curd portion. Next time I will just make a lemon meringue pie, but use the pecan crust.. mmmmmmmmm.
Why pie, you ask? My mom had a dinner party and that was my contribution. We all played a game called "imagine-if" - which got us all pretty silly.
